- Why a Birth Center Instead of a Hospital Birth?
At Babymoon Inn, we support your choices and desires in how you labor and give birth. Instead of fighting against hospital intervention and protocol, we are part of your team. At Babymoon Inn, the following interventions are never employed:
- induction and augmentation of labor with oxytocin
- continuous electronic fetal monitoring
- epidural anesthesia

- narcotics
- operative delivery
According to Henci Goer in Obstetrical Myths Versus Research Realities (A Guide to the Medical Literature), “…the routine interventions practiced in hospitals introduce risks….Birth center studies also uniformly report much lower rates of these interventions.”
Birth center studies uniformly report outcomes equivalent or superior to those of comparable women giving birth in the hospital.
- Why a Birth Center Instead of a Home Birth?
- We are supporters of home birth, but also understand that a home birth isn’t right for every family. It is our mission at Babymoon Inn to be your birth concierge. We want to lavish you with love and support and take care of your practical needs so that you can focus on your incredible journey into motherhood.
The physical proximity of Babymoon Inn is also a factor for many families. We are located less than a half-mile away from St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in case an emergency hospital transport is needed, and we have an arrangement with Bethany Women’s Healthcare, who have privileges at Phoenix Baptist Hospital, for non-emergency transfers.
We strive to be a viable solution within the healthcare community. Although Babymoon Inn’s clinical care is provided by midwives, maintaining relationships with naturopathic doctors, obstetricians, perinatologists, neonatologists, pediatricians, and hospitals allows a strong support network in case a higher level of care is needed.
- Why Babymoon Inn Birth Center?
It is our mission at Babymoon Inn to provide the setting for you to have the birth experience YOU desire. From caring and individual support throughout your prenatal care from your Midwife to providing personalized services for your labor and
birth, we are your birth concierge for this journey. We are here to take care of the practical details for you, so that your focus can be on your important job at hand – not preparing your house or fighting with hospital protocol.
